If you are feeling lost, confused, left behind, or that you just don’t matter, you may be needing an intuitive boost to connect with your joy and inner guidance.  Spirit has a special message for you and communicates through signs, coincidences, chance meetings and some downright strange occurrences. That’s the language of creation and if you just pay attention you will see that the signs are all around you.  Here’s a message that was delivered by a feathered friend, during an intuitive reading, and is one we can all appreciate.

It was a beautiful summer day and my client had arrived for a reading and at the last minute, I asked if she’d like to sit outside on the deck.  She did, and after she made herself comfortable, told me that she’d been telling her deceased mother, all week, that she expected her to make an appearance at this reading. I laughed and said, “You’re already in communication with her!  What do you need me for?”

She had lots of questions but like many who want their fortunes told,  just wanted me to tell her what I saw, first.  I obliged. The initial piece that came in was to inform her that she had the opportunity to make a career change. I told her that she was definitely a caregiver and she would do well in that field, be happier and make more money. She could even start her own business.  All she needed to do was to “say yes,” trust her intuition, and the doors would open for her.

The second and most important piece that held the key to all of this unfolding was to end a pattern having to do with male relationships, which she experienced with her father but had been passed down from previous generations. It was going to end with her.  The second I finished relaying the information, a hummingbird flew in front of her and hovered, suspended in mid-air, inches from her face. I watched my client stare at the tiny creature transfixed, for what seemed like minutes, and for my client, it was as if time stood still.

When she “came to” she was stunned, to say the least, at this abnormal interaction with nature and I said, “That was your mom.” She was still affected by this unusual behavior and said that she’d felt her mother’s presence as the hummingbird seemed to be trying to make eye contact. The timing of this delicate creature couldn’t be overlooked as its appearance punctuated the salient information that was being delivered to the recipient, as if to make sure she wouldn’t miss it. Some kind of sign.

Animal Spirit Medicine

Symbolically, birds are spiritual messengers and specifically, the hummingbird teaches us joy and to remember to en-joy our life, and live in the moment. Often we find ourselves with one foot in the past and the other in the future, completing disregarding the moment. Hummingbird teaches us that what happened in the past and what may happen in the future is not nearly as important as what is happening now. When you remember to hover in the moment, like a hummingbird, and to appreciate its sweetness, you will drink deeply of the nectar of life.

Hummingbird is the delightful creature whose mere presence opens your heart. If you have been hurt, your heart may be closed. Hummingbird signals that it is safe to open it again and experience all the joy that life has to offer.

Hummingbirds also serve to show us how we expend our own energy. When a hummingbird appears, it’s a reminder to take a look at your own vibrational frequency. Do you find yourself wasting energy on worry, lack, self-doubt or are you maintaining  a balanced state of mind, body and spirit, appreciating what you have and trusting that good things will come?

The winged messenger also says, “It is time for you to pursue your dreams and make them a reality.” That was an important message for my client who, like many women, do for everyone else and receive little in return. It was time to do things differently.

If you resonate with hummingbird energy here are some questions to ask:

“Am I en-joy-ing my life?”

“Can I find my happiness within?”

“In what ways can I attract even more joy into my life?”

Animal Totem

In indigenous traditions animal spirits symbolize the inner character that we possess, or are invited to cultivate. If hummingbird is your totem, you are messenger of hope and joy. You are loyal, playful and persistent.  Joy and fun are high vibrations and match the energy you need for manifestation.

Message for Manifestation

1. Take time to have fun as it raises your vibration and attracts more of what you are wanting.

2. Stay in the moment enjoying the nectar of life.

3. Appreciate where you are right now, keeping your eye on where you want to go, and watch life bring you unexpected miracles.

4. Take a walk in nature and see what animals show up or cross your path.  Look up their meaning. Let me know what you find!

The signs are all around you, if you just pay attention. There are no accidents.  You are deeply loved and supported and life lifts you up under your wings.
